Asian Editor - Jeffrey Landsberg
Jeffrey wasn't always your friendly neighborhood dry bulk analyst / freight options broker. Before getting bitten by the "bulk bug" he was a Boston University graduate not sure where life was going to lead him. Falling back on a fascination and degree in East Asian Studies, Jeffrey landed a Park Avenue job rubbing elbows with Korean diplomats and businessmen and eating more kimchi than he ever imagined was possible. As if the kimchi overload wasn't enough, he then decided to fly out to the Land of the Morning Calm and begin a career in shipping. Upon moving to South Korea, Jeffrey soon learned to rein in his East Coast sarcasm and avoid bringing up the topic of American-raised beef. He instead spent his time learning about his newfound true loves -- iron ore, coal, grain, steel -- pretty much anything carried in the cargo hold of a dry bulk vessel. And then.. one fateful day before meeting up with a Nepalese sherpa to go hiking in the Himalayas.. Jeffrey attended a freight derivatives conference where he met the mighty Mikal Boe. Mikal sensed something special in him (or maybe just wanted to give his ears a rest and stop talking about bulk for a few minutes) and suggested Jeffrey contact George Glass and Co. The rest is TMT history.
